This project took place in an existing 35,000 SF metal building. The TI consisted of a 27,300 SF buildout with a 4000 SF mezzanine and a 800 SF Zamboni Garage addition. The focus of this project was the relocation of their ice rink facilities from a tent structure at the fairgrounds to a permanent location for the community. The first particularly major challenge on this project was that the 190’ x 86’ ice rink was to be located in the 20,200 SF open warehouse area that included (9) steel columns in the way. To achieve this we had to fabricate and install 100’ span steel structure beams standing 10’ tall and removing the columns which required coordinating trades for micro pile install, structural steel fabrication, shoring existing building structure, and steel installation with various equipment. The second major challenge was the ice rink which consisted of 4” of rigid insulation, dasher board anchors, refrigerant piping, rebar, wire mesh, and concrete poured with ¼” tolerance flatness throughout. The remaining 13,800 SF consisted of buildout for their classroom, locker rooms, skate rental, concession and spectator viewing on both 1st and 2nd levels.
